Mark Francis was a respected leader, mentor and friend to so many. To honor his memory, the team at Shelly’s created the Mark Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
A Legacy Worth Honoring
Mark was a 40-year veteran in the lumber and building materials industry. He started with Shelly’s Supply 20 years ago and held various leadership positions before most recently becoming the Market President for the Pennsylvania market, leading Shelly’s, Musselman and Myers.
Over the course of his career, he worked with the mindset that he would never ask someone else to do something he wasn’t willing to or hadn’t done in the past. He left an undeniable impact on those he worked with and interacted with. His passion for his work and the development of the next generation of leaders was evident in everything he did.
About the Mark Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund
To honor Mark’s legacy, Shelly’s Supply created the Mark Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund, partnering with the Upper Bucks Vocational School’s construction department to award two students, one male and one female, each year with a $1,500 scholarship to go towards either continuing education in their field or moving into a working role within the field of study.
The US LBM Foundation partnered with the Mark Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund and agreed to match dollar for dollar the first $25,000 raised through fundraising events. Trough the dedicated and efforts of Mark’s supporter and community, the fund was not only able to meet the $25,000 goal, but surpass it, ultimately raising a total of over $35,000!
