Here’s a look back at the Foundation’s key accomplishments in 2024!
Supporting Associates in Times of Crisis
This fall, hurricanes brought challenges to many of our own US LBM’s team members. In response, the Foundation granted $167,000 in direct disaster relief to associates, providing over 100 individuals with $1,500 grants to help them recover and rebuild. To assist with recovery efforts in Western North and South Carolina, $126,500 was donated to various programs to directly help those in need.
Additionally, the commitment to disaster relief was extended by contributing $32,500 to Team Rubicon on top of the $150,000 pledge for 2024. Team Rubicon’s disaster response teams bring critical aid to communities in need, and we’re proud to support their work.
Finally, divisions donated $25,000 to various disaster relief initiatives through our Foundation for Giving program.
In total, the Foundation has proudly committed $500,000 to disaster relief efforts in 2024.
Honoring and Supporting Veterans
The Foundation maintained its strong support for veterans through its national partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, contributing to the RISE program, which builds custom homes for wounded veterans.
Additionally, the Foundation worked with the United Heroes League (UHL) to donate over $50,000 in 2024. These contributions sponsored events such as the Camo Golf Classic and a hockey clinic for military kids in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, enriching the lives of military families and their children.
Strengthening Local Communities
Through the Foundation for Giving program, several of our divisions selected causes important to them and over $200,000 was donated. These donations supported:
- Health and Human Services (34%)
- Housing Initiatives (19%) Over $100,000 were donated to various Habitat for Humanity across the country.
- Veteran Causes (15%)
- Youth Development (20%)
- Disaster Relief (12%)
Investing in Education
A highlight of the year was the establishment of the Mark Francis Memorial Scholarship by Shelly’s Lumber at the Upper Bucks Technical School. With a $25,000 matching gift from the Foundation, the total initial donation exceeded $60,000. This scholarship honors the legacy of Mark Francis while supporting technical education for future generations.
The US LBM Foundation’s efforts in 2024 exemplify its dedication to supporting associates, veterans, and communities through thoughtful and impactful giving. With disaster relief, community development, and partnerships with national organizations the Foundation has strengthened its commitment to making a positive difference.
As the Foundation looks ahead to 2025, it remains steadfast in its mission to build stronger communities and provide meaningful support to those in need. Thank you to our donors and volunteers who make this mission possible.
